Ben Wretch
Marcia Custer
A plastic lawn goose, a target for bow hunting in the shape of a deer, and a human with visions of other worlds populate the perfectly manicured green rectangle of a suburban front lawn. And they aren't able to leave. Thus is the story of Albatross Cul-De-Sac, an existential queer fairy tale in the form of a multi-media experiment in storytelling.
Ben Wretch is a visual artist and performer in Cleveland, OH. Their current body of work employs the imagery of the suburban front lawn to explore questions about the constructed nature of the American social landscape. They have presented work at SPACES, The Sculpture Center, and Ingenuity Fest in Cleveland, as well as in residency at The Chautauqua Institution in New York state, and as part of the Sculpture X conference in Pittsburgh, PA. Wretch is also a regular performer in queer Cleveland nightlife, and is the Host and Creator of BINGO DEATH MATCH "Cleveland Best and Only Wednesday Night Performance Art Variety Game Show" (self-proclaimed). They are an Aquarius, a cat owner, and are currently single.
